This template is to be used to generate Estonian IPA transcriptions. It uses the following special characters:

' To be used after palatalised consonants:

>jaht' for jaht

* To be used for short geminates:

>ka*lu for kaalu (gen. sg)

+ To be used between two parts of a compound:

>põhja+tuul for põhjatuul

ˈ To indicate stress if doesn't fall on the first syllable:

>aiˈtäh for aitäh

Any irregularly pronounced term may be respelled either using Estonian spelling convention or by including IPA characters.
