malheureusement je n'ai aucun pouvoir d'administration sur le Wiktionnaire malgache, je ne peux donc pas modifier cette page. Essaye plutôt de demander à un steward, en demandant un statut d'administrateur pour toi-même. - Darkdadaah 21 Desambra 2008 à 18:06 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

As an Administrator, you are allowed into #wikimedia-admin, the cross-wiki coordination channel for Wikimedia administrators. Any member of the channel can invite you in temporarily, but you need an invite exemption from a channel operator to get in whenever you want. Please come to #wikimedia and ask for an invite.

Any admin from any project is welcome and it is a good place for cross-wiki coordination of vandal and spam fighting. It is also useful for new admins to contact more experienced admins in real-time to get help with the more complicated admin tasks such as history merges/splits and importing via Special:Import.

Please remember to translate the interface at betawiki: only and to upload images preferably at commons:

Thank you

Hi, Jagwar. After having a look at "valo", I created templates -en- and -fr- as headings (instead of templates en and fr) so that they could be categorized automatically but now, seeing the templates in pages like "abo" or "anao" it seems to me that they are maybe unnecesary and I am going to adapt my edits in "eight" and "huit" following the same pattern in "deux". If they are not useful, please delete :Template:-en- and :Template:-fr- or if they are of some use, act accordingly. I have also created Template:d (as in "dika afa") following the common use in many dictionaries which is a template that links translation words both inside mg.wiktionary and outside it to other wiktionaries. Please let me know if it is a good idea to use a template like this here or if something similar existing here makes it redundant. Regards. --Piolinfax 1 Martsa 2009 à 02:05 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Name of languages

I see that you have changed the content of Endrika:en to a initial capital letter and created pt and es (thanks :) in the same fashion but Endrika:fr still is in lower case. All the names of languages in mg.wikt should go either with capital or lower case according to the Malgasy usage. This is something that depends on the rules in each language. For example: in English or German, language names are capitalized but not in many other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, etc). What is the Malgasy usage with language names? Regards. --Piolinfax 1 Martsa 2009 à 10:50 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Thanks, Jagwar. I said that because of the red links. fr uses frantsay while en uses Anglisy. If for example the correct names of these lemmata are in lower case, then all of them should use Frantsay and Anglisy instead. I would change them, but they are protected.
Another thing: I have used language templates in valo but now fiteny categories appear in valo. The only fiteny category there should be "Fiteny Malagasy", isn't it? What should I do? In other wiktionaries this is solved by using templates like Endrika:-mg- for headings and malagasy for the systematic naming of languages in translation sections.

--Piolinfax 3 Martsa 2009 à 00:33 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Hi. I have a question on this topic: which one should be used: Sokajy:Fiteny anglisy ot Sokajy:fiteny Anglisy (or even Sokajy:Fiteny Anglisy)? There are lots of variants in the "Fiteny" categories. Maybe the wrong ones could be removed. Malafaya 13 Aprily 2010 à 13:01 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Maas import of page from fr.wikt

I just noted mg.wiktionary is mass importing pages from fr.wikt like 실레지아 without fixing them (I don't whether you were planning to do so or not, but because it are over 500 pages I'm asking this). Li.wikt is known for having done the same (f.e. [2]) which resulted in nearly closing it. I am warning you now, because I don't want that mg.wikt gets the same problems as li.wikt (20.000 pages had to be deleted there) and there are still not many pages imported, so it's easy to fix it. --Ooswesthoesbes 14 Aprily 2010 à 04:52 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Volapük pages with duplicated title

Hi, Jagwar.

By what I have seen, all pages (or most; I haven't checked all) in Sokajy:volapoky have the name of the page written at the very top. I believe this is a mistake. Pages in other languages don't have it. Best regards, Malafaya 20 Aogositra 2010 à 13:43 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I saw the same problem in some Slovene pages. May I ask you a favour? Could you please edit MediaWiki:Accesskey-recentchanges and replace it with "r" (without the quotes) there? Interwicket user page

Hi, the bot expects to be able to write it so it can update all 150+ without me doing it manually. Your protecting it causes a long series of errors.

Would you please move the translated page to a subpage (say Interwicket/mg) and then put at the top of the page, and unprotect it? The bot will leave template calls on the page alone. The result will be that the page will have your translation, followed by the up to date English.

Okay? :-)

About BotJagwar

Hello Jagwar,

Your bot has imported lots of pages as 14 juillet from frwiktionary.

  • Firstly, these pages contain a lot of errors
  • Then, you forgot to specify in the history from where the page has been imported, and by consequence it is violation of author rights

Please correct it as soon as possible. You can contact me at fr:User talk:Quentinv57 if you need some help. -- Quentinv57 27 Novambra 2010 à 14:55 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Malagasy features

Hi, Jagwar.

I would like to start adding some words in Malagasy to other Wiktionaries. As I know nothing of Malagasy, could you please tell me:

  • Are there genders in Malagasy? If so, are they stated in the articles? What are they called in Malagasy?
  • What are the declensions "Mpanao voalohany", "Mpanao faharoa" and "Mpanao fahatelo"? What does it mean and what are their uses? ("Singiolary" and "Ploraly" I think I understand :))

Thanks, Malafaya 14 Desambra 2010 à 12:18 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

So "Mpanao voalohany" is first person possessive, "Mpanao faharoa" second person possessive and "Mpanao fahatelo" third person possessive? How is gender marked there? Thanks, Malafaya 16 Desambra 2010 à 01:30 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

What are the other seasons of the year in Malagasy?
  • Spring/printemps (Volapük: florüp) = ?
  • Winter/hiver (Volapük: nifüp) = ?
  • Autumn/automne (Volapük: fluküp) = ?

I don't want to be a pain but shouldn't this category be lowercase like all the others in Sokajy:fiteny, i.e. Sokajy:amharika? Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 13:15 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

OK, I just didn't want to do it myself in case I was not right. Thanks, Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 14:36 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
There's also Sokajy:Firenena amin'ny teny volapoky which I believe is about countries but I'm not sure the name is correct because for Korean the the word "teny" is actually "fiteny"... Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 15:11 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
OK. But for normalization sake, maybe they should have same names. Any preference on which on I should create for other languages? Fiteny or teny? Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 17:33 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

The category system here is very messy. Look what I found:

  1. Sokajy:Anarana amin'ny fiteny malagasy
  2. Sokajy:anarana amin'ny fiteny mg
  3. Sokajy:Anarana amin'ny teny malagasy

I don't want to choose myself because you are the main intested and native speaker here. I would like to help but maybe you could set some rules for categories first? After that, I could continue creating and correcting them. What do you think? Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 18:07 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Not many question so far except this:
  • could you describe what are the Malagasy expressions for main categories, such as nouns, verb, adjectives, adverbs, countries and whatever you see fit for now?
  • tamily or tamoul: சிகாகோ?
I see you corrected it. So it's tamily?
  • koreana or koreanina?
  • how is Portuguese in Malagasy? "portugais" seems French to me...
I shall use portogey then if it's ok.
  • difference between "Bikan'anarana amin'ny teny alemaina" and "Endrik'anarana amin'ny fiteny alemaina"?
I noticed both exist. We probably should choose one. I see "Endriky" is more used.
    So, let's choose Endriky.
  • could you take a look at Special:UnusedCategories and clean up when needed?
On different topics
  • I saw your bot creating Volapük words such as ijinenpalanöpanövom, and it says something about being some flexion of jinenpalanöpan. This is not right, because the first word is a conjugated form of a verb, and the second is a noun. The conjugated form would be of verb "jinenpalanöpanön" if it existed (which I doubt to make much sense: "to be made a female orphan"). This particular form "ijinenpalanöpanövom" would mean something like "he would have been made a female orphan".
  • There's a missing </div> in MediaWiki:Recentchangestext before the interwikis which is preventing link shortcut keys from working. I use them a lot :( .
Thanks, Malafaya 10 Martsa 2011 à 21:22 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
  • Anarana iombonana: I did wrongly then because I followed the examples which did not include iombonaba. Should I recreate them with "Anarana iombonana [amin'ny teny xxx]"? Malafaya 11 Martsa 2011 à 18:11 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Re:Anarana iombonana

Probably, most pages in current "Anarana ..." categories will have to be moved to the new "Anarana iombonana ...". So, proper nouns go straight into "Anarana ...", right? Malafaya 11 Martsa 2011 à 18:33 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

May I use my bot (MalafayaBot) here for some quicker updates on some pages? Where can I request bot flag?
About the 2 points I made previously:
  • Could you check MediaWiki:Sidebar and correct according to its talk page please? It would make shortcut keys work again,
  • Your bot is creating verb conjugations of Volapük nouns. As you can see here, kased is a noun and you already have verb conjugations for it such as äkasedob!
Malafaya 12 Martsa 2011 à 01:55 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
What I mean about verb forms is that you are conjugating nouns, not verbs. A simple example in English: noun = kitchen; your bot would be creating "will kitchen", "kitchened", which doesn't make sense. It would only if a verb "to kitchen" existed. Verbs (in their infinitive forms) in Volapük always end in -ön. If you can't find a verb corresponding to the noun, the it probably doesn't exist. Malafaya 12 Martsa 2011 à 19:48 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I'm adding language categories to a main category: i.e. "Biby .... teny rosy" >> "Biby". Is this wrong? Malafaya 13 Martsa 2011 à 20:59 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

OK, I added it to korean animals category. It would be nice to have language names translated (biélorrusse...?) Malafaya 13 Martsa 2011 à 21:04 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

  • I asked for bot flag in Dinika.
  • Is there a difference in a Malagasy word written with "ô" or with "o"? Sometimes, in the dictionary you told me, there is a difference in accents between what I see there and here (i.e. "tanana" vs. "tanàna".

Malafaya 14 Martsa 2011 à 02:52 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

  • You created Sokajy:anaram-pirenena amin'ny teny malagasy with initial lower case unlike all others for parts of speech. Why? Maybe you don't realize that Wiktionary is case-sensitive, unlike Wikipedia? So it matters whether capital letters go in beginning or not. BTW, what does this category represent?
  • You also created Sokajy:English plurals. Shouldn't this be translated to Malagasy and all articles moved there?

Numerous inflected forms without the main form

First off, I am posting in English, as I speak no French; I hope you will be able to understand.

I am an editor of English Wiktionary, and am concerned with the operation of your bot, much like Ruakh above. What I would like to talk about in this thread are the actions of your bot today, on 15 March 2010, on Malagasy Wiktionary. You bot is creating many inflected forms of Volapük[3], for words that have no lemma entries, such as the inflected form "palübätols‎" for the redlinked (non-created) form "lübät". I do not know your source of the inflected forms, but to me this seems to be an attempt to artificially inflate or make high the number of entries of Malagasy Wiktionary, while there are still only rather few entries with real content. I am not sure whether the actions of your bot are honest or dishonest, but I am sure I do not like the actions. Artificially boosting numbers for number's sake is a poor behavior, one that you should better avoid. Sincerely, --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 13:49 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

An additional note: please respond here rather than on my talk page; I am watching this page. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 13:57 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Hello, Dan Polansky,
Inflected forms you saw in Bot-Jagwar's contributions page are verb forms in volapük language. I don't know if you have seen discussion between me and Malafaya, but, those verb forms are from infinitive forms in Verbs in Volapük. As inflection of volapük verbs are all regular, I decided to make inflected forms of them here in our wiki. Before I start to write my program which consists to make verb forms in volapük here, I studied volapük.
Making bot-created flexions, according to you (and many other) seems for you to be an attempt to inflate number of entries : that would be a lie is I said I don't care the number of entries. But they are without any mistake both in explanation and in existence. You know, I can make millions and millions of entries in verb forms of such a language, but I limited myself to the wordlist of verbs in Volapük. Here, in Malagasy wiktionary, the local bot only create inflected forms. And humans, like me, are creating lemma entries. Stopping my bot right now will let incomplete a work I prepared many weeks ago. It will be stopped as soon as all verbs in volapük are inflected.
I have planned that for many other languages : Volapük, Latin, and Malagasy ; the first is being done (in one month), the second is still being preparated. Best regards, --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 15 Martsa 2011 à 14:37 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
A bit off-topic here, as I'm not commenting the bot actions, just a note: "palübätols‎" is the passive present 2nd person plural form of verb "lübätön": "you (all) are attracted/tempted". "Lübät" is a noun, not verb, meaning "attraction". Malafaya 15 Martsa 2011 à 15:08 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
In the explanation, I didn't mention that lübät is a verb. I said that the inflected form is the second-person plural of the verb from lübät root. Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 15 Martsa 2011 à 16:54 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
OK, but the rule is not right. For example, blövükobs says it's a verb inflection from root word "blövük". The root would be "blöv", same for verb "blövikön", because "-ük" is a suffix used to "transitivize" the verb. There should be no noun with "-ük".
Blövikön = to become blue (from adjective "blövik"); Blövükön = to colour something blue (from noun "blöv") Malafaya 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:22 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Re: "Here, in Malagasy Wiktionary, the local bot only create inflected forms": that does not seem to be the case. When I look at the entry "in", created on 13 February 2011 by Bot-Jagwar, I see a full page copied from English Wiktionary without any processing, and also without a proper import of the page history from English Wiktionary.
Coming back to the inflection forms: it just feels wrong to create inflected forms for redlinked lemmas (non-created non-inflected entries). I do not know how to easily look around Malagasy Wiktionary and get a picture of what is going on here, but Malagasy Wiktionary now has over 1,000,000 entries. I really wonder how many of these entries have useful content, and how it would be possible for this Wiktionary to have so many real-content entries. I find it hard to escape the suspition that something is not quite right here around Malagasy Wiktionary. I do not understand what purpose there is in entering inflected forms for non-created lemmas other than boost the numbers: the users of the Wiktionary have very little use for an inflected form when they cannot see its definition.
I have not seen discussions between you and Malafaya: would you post a hyperlink to these discussions, so I can read them?
As before, I would appreciate if you post further answers to this page. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:16 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Dan, I believe Jagwar refers to this particular conversation, where I spotted some wrong articles and tried to explain which cases are and which are not feasible in Volapük. Malafaya 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:25 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
(after edit conflict) I have now found a link to Special:Random pages. When I sample Malagasy Wiktionary using this function, I see mostly inflected forms that either lead to a redlink or lead to a page that has no definition bur rather says "page: nominative singular infinitive of page", or something of the sort. Once in a while, I find a page copied from other Wiktionary, such as consterno. I really do not like what I see. The page "consterno" and its like are unprocessed and, technically, probably constitute copyright violation of other Wiktionaries. Also, I really wonder what or whom do you think you are helping with this. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:27 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
To show an example: dabükot is defined as "Endrika nominativa ny anarana fiombonana sy fototeny dabükot", which defines it merely as an inflected form of itself: the reader does not find about what the word means. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:41 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Additional questions come to mind that could help me understand the situation: how many active admins are there in Malagasy Wiktionary? Do other admins agree with your mass creating content-free inflection forms? --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 17:55 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
To complete the picture (sorry for the repeated posting): the category Sokajy:volapoky now contains 701 121 content-free entries; Sokajy:latina contains 149 402 content-free entries, Sokajy:espaniola has 81 294 entries, and Sokajy:italiana has 59 193 entries. Together these make up 991,010 entries, accounting for the number of over 1,000,000 entries. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 18:15 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
I am active here since nearly one year, the wiki had at that time one or two hundred entries, written without any norm or presentation.
I am fixing words when it is possible to fix them, so I redo them to make them meaningful, it's coming, very slowly as we don't have an important community, but surely.
For imported pages from the english language Wiktionary, Most of them have been fixed ; but as you see, there are some exception contradicting this affirmation.
As I mentioned in malagasy, robots here are making replacement work and automatic importing ; they can also be used for making inflections of nouns, verbs and so on.
Nominative can be seen as an inflection, but with an empty suffix... I don't know if you understand what I want to say about that. I know, there are mistakes in some thousand of entries (I am sincere) about the root, but they can be fixed, by anybody, as this site is a wiki. Ah, Definition or translation of the word can be done, without deleting that first explanation.
About number of admins here, you can look at the statistics : there are only two admins. The first admin of this wiki left this in 2005, which means five years before I start contributing seriously here. I sent him a message to change the edittools but unsuccessfully (as he don't contribute here no more). Thus, because he left the wiki, it is impossible to have his opinion on about what I am doing.
I take initiative, I started to contribute here, first by importing the entries from other wiktionaries and then by creating a program to make them automatically. Articles, especially imported articles, are not all perfect, there are, let's say 85% of articles who does not need to be fixed. On 1M articles, it is quite normal to have thousands of mistaken entries. I try, gradually I say, to reach one hundred percent, but I can tell you that it is not easy. But I cling. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 15 Martsa 2011 à 20:40 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
(unindent) Thank you for all the answers.
I really do not understand what makes you think that creating 700,000 Volapük inflected forms with no definitions is useful to anyone. Many of these forms are not even used anywhere; "badikom" has no Google hits, just like "badälol", "baitonava", "gabunänis" and probably many other entries. What makes you think these are real Volapük words? In English Wiktionary, a word form can be included only if it can be attested in some texts that actually use the word form. I know Volapük may be hard to attest, as it is a constructed language; it is a bit harder task to find out what criteria for inclusion (rules that decide whether a word should be included) to use for Volapük. But you seem to have no criteria for inclusion. I have no idea what made you include, say, "gabunänis", and how I can verify that it is a real Volapük word.
Who is going to look up word forms that no-one has ever used? What useful purpose is served by nominally inflating the number of entries by creating packs of forms, say 10 inflected forms per word, without any semantic information, meaning without any statement of what the words mean? When I look at vo:babülon, there is an inflection table, but the Volapük Wiktionary does not bother to flood the space with inflected forms of "babülon".
A sound principle for building a useful dictionary is IMHO this: an inflected form of a word should be created only if the lemma form of the word is also created and contains at least a definition, where by definition I do not mean a statement a word form is a nominative. You have broken this principle with these 700,000 entries. If it were up to me, I would get deleted all inflected forms whose lemma form contains no definition. I do not know what other people think, and whether this principle can be enforced in any way. What I know is this: I am disappointed that you do not see this principle as worthy of keeping. --Dan Polansky 15 Martsa 2011 à 22:01 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Copyright violation of other Wiktionaries

In the database of Malagasy Wiktionary, there is a host of copyright violations of other Wiktionaries, created by you or your bot. Often, they are violations of French Wiktionary. What you should do now is stop all your activities and the activites of your bot, and first deal with the copyright violations. To start with, you should delete all pages that violate the copyright of French Wiktionary.

Here is a batch of 2000 Japanese entries that you have copied from French Wiktionary without revision history, and that should better be deleted, for the start:

Have you categorized them ? Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 16 Martsa 2011 à 17:04 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
I have not categorized those pages. Given you are the one who has imported the pages, you should be best able to find them all. However, after you have deleted these 2000 listed pages and cannot find more, I can find more pages for you to delete. One category in which many of them appear is Sokajy:japonais, but, of course, not only Japanese entries have been wrongly imported by you or your bot. --Dan Polansky 16 Martsa 2011 à 18:15 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

You have not stopped your bot (Recent changes including bots). You are not in a hurry to remove copyright violations. Instead, you are busy to add further worthless inflected forms, many of which are unattestable (are not used by anyone), and some of which state incorrect things (see Malafaya's notes in the previous thread). I ask you again to stop your bot, and start deleting the copyright violations instead. --Dan Polansky 17 Martsa 2011 à 08:32 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I have now stopped my bot and deleted most of entries about chinese hanzi and japanese kanji. Some of them doesn't need to be deleted, because the content is in malagasy (templates are correctly supported). Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 17 Martsa 2011 à 12:59 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Thank you for the first step.

The term also should be deleted, because it was copied in the whole from French Wiktionary by you without importing the article history; the subsequent renaming of the headings to Malagasy does not change that.

I also ask you to delete all other terms that you copied from French Wiktionary or from English Wiktionary without importing the revision history. Here is another batch, but I do not really want to be looking for these entries for you: please start the process of systematically finding all the pages that you have copied and deleting them. Here the batch: ablative, 40s, Bloquistes, Casanovas, First Nations, Franco-Manitobans, Inuit, Irish twins, MP3s, North American Indians, Québecois, Saints, Speedos, aeromechanics, agenda, aircraft, anaphora, anastasis, arcana, arnis, arrears, backpackers, bacteria, bahs, bays, bellows, billiards, biostudies, biotherapeutics, blues, bollocks, bottle tops, burnous, burpees, calvities, chaps, checkers, chupacabras, châssis, clippers, coals, cracklings, crus, dark elf, dialectics, dive, double entendre, earphones, epithelialisation, abaton, agon, amnion, anon, apron, baron, baston, baton, blazon, boron, branon, caron, cimbalon, citron, colon, devon, digon, fanfaron, fermion, abode, accused, affected, anointed, bent, betrothed, born, bought, bound, brake, burst, cast, chopped logic, classified, clave, cleft, colored, coloured, come, come on, condemned, cost, couth, crew, crost, cut, cut off, departed, drug, drunk, dug, dung, enlightened, enlisted, fallen, fed, felt, gilt, girt, given, ground, grown up, het, hit, impaired, inbred, inset, insured, intended, kist, known, lamed, left, lied, lit, malted, married, modified, moped, overharvesting, podcast, preferred, prest, put out, read, rebound, redd, remarried, rent, reset, rung, sat, scrod, sent, shot, shright, signified, slit, slunk, smelt, speedrun, spelt, split, spread, stove, sublet, thickening, thought, thowt, thunk, tread, twining, undercut, weed, won, wound, woven, writ, armada, corrido, cruzado, dado, dorado, enchilada, accelerando, abate, bata, bate, batiste, bulla, baldare, achate, adobe, adobo, amble, ancho, ande, anime, animé, apache, apocope, apode, apostille, araba, archive, are, aventure, aviso, azote, baile, balase, bale, barra, boto, bree, cabree, cabriole, cache, calibre, calque, canto, capsule, capture, cargo, casaba, cascara, casco, case, casque, catalogue, cate, cause, censure, centre, chape, choco, chupe, chute, cicatrice, clone, coagulase, coma, combe, combine, combo, compile, concrete, confine, conjugase, conjure, conserve, converse, converso, crease, creme, critique, culture, cure, curse, curve, dance, decline, demos, deposite, detente, discipline, disco, dispense, dispute, dome, domine, domino, dote, drogue, dude, eclipse, emigre, enclave, equivoque, era, escabeche, escape, escudo, esperance, exclame, excuse, expando, extreme, fascine, fatigue, fiche, figure, fino, flambee, forme, fracture, fugue, fume, funda, giro, grade, granule, grape, grave, grille, habitué, hallo, halo, he, hile, homologue, hui, ice, impulse, incentive, incline, integrase, interne, intrico, invite, involucre, lace, lactase, lama, lance, lave, lea, lego, libero, lie, ligase, lime, limo, lite, logo, loo, lustre, macho, maleo, manufacture, marinara, marine, marque, mascara, masque, mate, maté, meare, mime, mine, mire, module, modulo, mojo, mole, molé, mondo, more, motive, muraba, mure, mute, nieve, note, optime, ore, orle, ovule, oxidase, oxide, pareo, paste, pause, pea, pego, peine, peregrine, perfume, peso, pie, pile, pinto, pique, piqué, plague, planche, polo, poncho, pongo, pose, premie, preserve, presto, primase, prime, primo, profane, pueblo, pula, pulse, punte, rape, rasure, rebate, rebozo, recompense, regale, regulo, relevé, repose, repute, reserve, respire, resto, retire, revise, rice, rime, robe, rodeo, romance, rondo, roo, rote, salo, salve, salvo, sancoche, sea, secundo, sede, selle, sello, serene, sonde, soy, sublime, suicide, sulfatase, sulfate, sumo, suture, tache, tale, tape, temple, tense, tilde, timbre, tire, tiro, titre, tome, tope, topo, toque, torture, trace, tribute, trine, turbo, tutee, use, verse, verso, veto, vine, vista, viva, adagio, addice, aero, affiliate, agglomerate, aggregate, alate, alienate, alternate, amino, ammoniate, ammonite, ansa, appetite, arpeggio, arse, aspirate, assassinate, associate, balla, bari, beano, biscotti, bistro, breviate, buffo, cade, cadenza, cadi, calcia, candida, candidate, cantilena, canzona, capita, capitate, carambola, cardi, cassava, abbreviator, Saale, abdicator, ablegate.

Salama tompoko. Matahari (soratana amin'ny soratra Hiragana) no tenako. Ary mangataka aminao mpandrindra aho hoe inona ny azo atao eto amin'ity Wiki amin'ny teny malagasy ity. Vao nanokatra kaonty vaovao teto amin'ity wiki ity manko aho ary te-hahafantatra ny zavatra efa nataonao ary ny zavatra hataonao eto amin'ity wiki ity raha afaka ampiana. Izaho manokana dia mpikambana tsy dia havitrika loatra noho ny tsifisian'ny fotoana, fa mety hampiako ianao rehefa misy ny fotoana. --またはり 23 Martsa 2011 à 19:43 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Manahoana, ary nisaotra anao namaly ny hafatro.
Raha ny azoko izany dia tsy dia ny manitsy teny nampidirin'ny rôbô sy mamorona pejin-teny iditra vaovao ihany no azo atao eto ? Rehefa izany dia tsara² ihany izany ny fomba fiasanareo eto. Raha mikasaika ny teny arivo amin'ny teny malagasy, anglisy ary espaniola indray dia mety afaka elaela izany vao ho vita raha vitsy isika. Tsy afaka atsofoky ny rôbô ve ? Izaho manko tsy dia mahay firy ny Python, ka tsy fantatro fa ho vitako ny manamboatra rôbô iray ary mampandeha azy eto, mora ny vidin'ny Aterineto eto Frantsa, ka aleo araraotina mba hahafahan'izareo mety handray anjara any Mada hamorona ny teny iditra tsara vita... Miteny malagasy tsara ve ianao ? Satria manko hitako teo amin'ny pejindresakao fa teny anglisy ny ankamaroan'ny hafatra nalefan'ny hafa anao, ka manontany fotsiny aho.
Ho ataoko telechargement ny Python androany ka mety hisy fanontaniana hapetrako aminao mahakasika izany. --またはり 24 Martsa 2011 à 11:52 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

(mamerina ny fihisaka) Ny olombelona, raha tsy hoe sarotra dia sarotra ny fihilan'ilay matoanteny, dia tsy mametraka ny bika matoanteny eto amin'i Wikibolana ; ny rôbô no manao izany, ho an'ny fiteny rehetra. Raha mikasika ny teny arivo amin'ny teny vahiny sy amin'ny teny malagasy indray dia isika olombelona no mametraka azy ato amin'ity Wiki ity fa tsy ny rôbô, satria ny rôbô ato dia tsy mahalala mametraka zavatra ato afatsy ny famaritan'ny diksionera hafa ary noho izany dia mety ho tsifanajana ny zom-pamorona ny fanaovana izany zavatra izany, ka noho izany, isika olombelna ihany no mamorona ireo teny ireo satria isika ihany no mahay mamaritra azy am-panajana ny zom-pamorona. Isika izao eto amin'i Wikibolana amin'ny teny malagasy dia olona roa fotsiny (izaho mpandrindra ary ianao mpikambana). Ny hafa izay manova dia olona avy amin'ny fikambanana hafa avokoa, ka noho izany tsy mahalala teny malagasy na dia manahoana aza. Izy ireny matetika dia tonga manampiampy antsika eto dia izay.

Ny tenako dia tsy nianatra nanoratra teny malagasy, kanefa io fiteny io no nibeazako (tany Madagasikara izaho no lehibe, dia aveo nifindra teto frantsa) ; vao telo taona izay aho no nanomboka nanoratra tamin'ny teny malagasy (tsy any am-pianarana an), dia izao no vokany, ka tiako hapetraka aminao ity fanontaniana ity : ahoana ny ahitanao ny fanoratako teny malagasy ? Tsy dia be hadisoana ve ? Raha izany dia lazao ahy.

Mikasika ny fanamboarana rôbô amin'ny Python, raha mahay tsara miteny anglisy ianao dia tsy ho olana aminao ny mampandeha azy, fa ilay fanombohana fotsiny no somary sarotra : Amin'ny voalohany ianao tsy maintsy manamboatra ny rakitra (fisie, raha tianao) userconfig.py amin'ny alàlan'i wikipedia.py, dia arahanao ny toromarika. Fa alohan'izany aloha ianao tsy maintsy manokatra kaonty rôbô eto amin'ity Wiki ity dia aveo amin'izany mametraka ny anaran'ny rôbô-nao ao amin'ny Userconfig ao. Jereo ny toromarika momban'i Pywikipedia any amin'i Wikipedia amin'ny teny anglisy any raha mila fanampiana ianao, na mametraha hafatra eo amin'ny pejin-dresako. Misaotra, Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 24 Martsa 2011 à 13:46 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Salama, ary niala tsiny amin'ilay famaliana tara,
Ny teny malagasinao dia hitako hoe eo ho eo ihany, vakio tsara ny hafatrao aloha ny mandefa azy fa ohatry be teny miverimberina, ka sarotra ary mankaleo ny mamaky azy (miala tsiny amin'izany fa izay no tsapako), fa ankoatr'izay dia tsy misy tenenina : mahafehy tsara ny tsipelin-teny ianao.
Raha izaho manokana, araka izay voavakiko teo ambony teo (hafatra napetrak'i Dan Polanski), ianao hono ohatry ny tsy manaja ny zom-pamorona (?) izaho manko dia tsy dia mahay teny anglisy loatra fa toa izay no lazainy (nampiasa mpandikanteny izaho, ka singantsingany kely fotsiny no azoko). Ny hevitro mikasika izany dia aza mampiditra pejy eto avy amin'ny wiki hafa mihitsy. Satria ratsy be ny vokany eto amin'i Wikibolantsika eto : sady ratsy no mahamenatra (eny!) satria tsy mahavita zavatra raha tsy mandika ny an'ny hafa... Raha izaho manokana dia aleo hamita ny rakibolana malagasy-malagasy aloha izay vao mandika ny raki-bolana hafa. Mbola mianatranatra ny Python izaho ka tsy dia manam-potoana loatra. Mbola mamorona ny rindrankajy hanaovana teny malagasy izaho aloha amin'izao, ka mety tsy handray anjara eto mandritry ny volana (na ny taona) maromaro... Miala tsiny raha somary kivy ianao amin'ity hevitro ity fa ratsy ny wikibolana amin'ny teny malagasy, ka mila diovina kely izy ity, amin'ny alalan'ny famafana ny endrika rehefa amin'ny teny volapoky (!) ary amin'ny alalan'ny famafana ireo pejy izay tsy manam-botoatiny amin'ny teny malagasy (satria maro ny pejy tsy amin'ny teny malagasy hitako tao amin'ny pejy lavabe tao). Ataovy aloha izany rehetra izany, dia aveo angamba aho handray anjara eto.
Misaotra anao... --またはり 27 Martsa 2011 à 18:06 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Fanandramana ataoko

Manao ahoabna Jagwar,

Vitako telechargement ilay rindrankajy Python ary ny rindrankajy fandefasana rôbô Pywikipedia. Misimisy ny fotoako amin'ity vakansy ity ka manao fanandramana eto amin'i Wikibolana amin'ny teny malagasy aho. Ka noho izany aza dia kivy raha mihafeno ny pejy ao amin'ny lisitry ny pejy tokony hofafàna noho ny hadisoana natao, amin'ny famoronana pejy indrindra indrindra.

Tsy fantatro izay ho ataonao mandritra ity telovolana ity fa ny tenako aloha amin'izao dia manao numerisation ny diksionera malagasy anglisy taloha be ireny, dia aveo mangataka an'ny mpikambana any amin'ny Wiki vahiny hanao ny dikanteny amin'ny tenindreniny ny dikanteny nataoko tato. Izay ary aloha,

Ity ny kaody fango ampiasaiko ankehitriny.

re: Manokafa kaonty bot

Manao ahoana, またはり,

Efa akaiky hifarana izao ny fialan-tsasatra, ka mety tsy hanam-potoana ny hanoratra eto firy intsony ny tenako, satria koa manko izaho hanao fanadinana amin'ny faran'ny taona... Hitako nanova ianao, tamin'ny alàlan'ny script nomeko anao tamin'ny imailaka. Rehefa hampiasa io script io ianao, dia manokafa kaonty bot mba tsy hameno ary hanentsina ny lisitry ny fanovana vao natao. Izaho manokana izao dia nanokatra kaonty bot mba tsy hanentsina ny fanovana farany. Telo tapitrisa mahery ny fanovana natao tamin'iny bot iny, anefa tsy hita manova mihitsy izy raha tsy tsindriana eo amin'ilay hoe "asehoy ny mpikambana rôbô". Raha tsy izany dia tsy hifankahitana mihitsy raha ohatra ka manomboka manao fanovana matetitetika ianao amin'ny alalan'ny anaram-pikambanao... Izao atao : manokafa kaonty bot (ohatry ny manokatra kaonty tsotra ihany ilay izy fa dia hoe homen'ny mpiambona na steward sata rôbô fotsiny. Aza hadino ny manolo ny user-config.py ary ny tenimiafin'ny rôbô anao. Misaotra. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 21 Aprily 2011 à 15:30 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Manao ahoana,
Voaray ny sosokevitrao, anefa ny tenako tsy dia hanova eto firy intsony koa noho ny fotoana manomboka tsy misy... Amin'ilay fialantsasatra efa manomboka hifarana, satria koa mpianatra ny tena. Tsy dia misy hilana azy loatra aloha izao amiko ny fanokafana kaonty bot vaovao, dia manao fanandramana kely fotsiny, ary manampy anao manao ny asan'ny "mpandrindra" koa e ! Aleo kely ihany ny fanovana hataoko, dia io fanasokajiana anatin'ilay pejy tokony hitandremana (fa tsy itandremana, izay aloha ny fahitako azy) ihany dia aveo mety tsy ho eto raha tsy hoe amin'ny fialantsasatra lehibe angaha. Izay ary aloha fa dia mampamangy. --またはり 21 Aprily 2011 à 15:38 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Miarahaba indray,

Efa ela izay ianao no tsy hitako manoratra eto amin'i Wikibolana amin'ny teny malagasy eto. Mba tiako fantatra ny antony nialanao teto amin'ny wikibolana amin'ny teny malagasy teto. Marking for deletion - tl.wikt

Hi. At 16:57, 29 November 2011 your bot started marking for deletion many English words (seemingly about 3,000) in tl.wiktionary. I have found that some of them shouldn't be marked so because they have valid history previous to your edits. For the examples I located and reverted you can check my edits in tl.wikt (most of them have been located by following the English entries in the earlier editions in the editions' log of Chininazu12, one good editor there until 2010). It seems to affect only to English entries but I am not totally sure about it. Right now I have no time to go on reverting valid pages so I would ask you to have a look at those pages and revert the ones with valid histories previous to your edits. As doing this with more than 3000 pages may take a long time, I would advise you to warn people in Meta or the sysops in tl.wikt so that they do not delete indiscriminately everything contained right now in Kategorya:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion. -- 3 Desambra 2011 à 11:58 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Hello, due to official request at the WMF, I had to delete my translation from English to Tagalog (as they were considered as "copyrighted", according to them). So I had to delete all English words contained in the wiki. I will warn people at Meta to help restoring these entries with a valid history. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 3 Desambra 2011 à 17:46 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Maybe a helpful way would be to leave a changeable note in Kategorya:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion stating which pages have been checked and can be safely removed. For example, I have checked the first ones and, right now, all the articles from (informatika) pakajy to accommodation (both included) can be deleted. I'll have a look at it and will expand it in a while. Regards. -- 3 Desambra 2011 à 23:28 (UTC) (akaépondre[répondre]
That's feasible ; I have added a note in the category page ; so cleaners have been prevented. Tomorrow afternoon (GMT+1 time) I will try to write a program sorting entries that have been created by me, so it will be faster to revert the notice of deletion of the words that must not be deleted. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 3 Desambra 2011 à 23:44 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
PS :But there is a problem : I can't use it (for official reasons) so if you know how to use a wikibot, I will give you the script once I finished it. OK ?
Thanks. I have checked up to "aisle" and changed the message accordingly. Unfortunately I have never used a wikibot or written a script for a bot. I know the rudiments of what they can do and roughly how they do it but not much more. Maybe you could pass that script to some other trusted bot operator? Now I'll check a little bit more Chininazu12's editions log. Regards. -- 4 Desambra 2011 à 00:17 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Checked up to "apostle" and changed the message accordingly. -- 4 Desambra 2011 à 01:09 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Checked up to "behaviour" and changed the message accordingly. Probably it would be a good idea you left a message in Meta pointing to the warning just in case they do not see it. In general, it would be good if the sysops deleting pages checked the history logs first and removed the delete template from those with editions previous to yours. Lately I am experiencing problems with my internet connection, that is why my IP changes so often. Navigating is becoming difficult so I may be off for a while. Regards. -- 4 Desambra 2011 à 14:37 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

(reset indent)Hello, I have messaged someone who may be able to revert all changes I made on pages that I didn't create. Once the reverts are done, remaining page in the speedy deletion category will all be deleted. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 4 Desambra 2011 à 15:36 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Hi. I saw Quentinv57 already cleared the deletion category. I hope no pages with valid editions were deleted because only four articles with editions other than yours in that category seems a bit weird to me. Well, I guess I located most of them and Quentinv57 overpassed the articles with bot editions (there are plenty of bot-linked tl:s to deleted pages in the wiktionaries [ example 1, example 2 ] because bots continued linking your pages even when they had been replaced by deletion templates), which, of course, is OK. Regards. -- 5 Desambra 2011 à 19:10 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Normally, all pages I have created had to be deleted so I think there was no wrong deletions. And bot will probably remove the links added to deleted entries in the coming days. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 5 Desambra 2011 à 20:34 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Bot fixes at tl.wikt

Hi, Jagwar. The pages you created in tl.wikt have the same kind of problems as those you created in fj.wikt: accumulative translation mistakes over several languages. One example (among others I have located in few minutes): Esperanto "bubino" (naughty girl) or Dutch "gevogelte" (poultry, fixed) meaning Tagalog "ibon" (bird). I do not know if you can operate your bot there or even if what I have in mind is feasible but I think it would be a good idea to try and place a template like the one in fj.wikt warning the page was created by a bot. Unlike in fj.wikt, though, it would be good to add it only in the pages where you created the first edition. Had it been added from the very beginning, things would be easier now (even if the message were in English, remember a template and its categories can be updated or modified easily). As well, the name for Catalan in Tagalog is Katalan, so in the pages included in tl:Kategorya:Mga_pangngalang_Catalan the following changes are needed:

  • == Catalan == should be == Katalan ==
  • kategorya:Mga pangngalang Catalan should be Kategorya:Mga pangngalang Katalan
  • The same may be true for Tsines and Tsino but I am still awaiting for confirmation; see this comment to Sky Harbor after he corrected one edit: Tsino/Tsines.

Could you fix or ask somebody to fix the template and the Catalan issues, please?. Regards. -- 7 Desambra 2011 à 10:52 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Ok, I am currently writing a script doing that thing. About Katalan and Catalan, it's a quite long story : I found Catalan in the wiktionary itself, so if it's a mistake, it is always possible to fix it.
I will do the work you requested, but not right now : I am currently entering Telugu words here in mg.wikt, so once the work finished, the work will be done. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 7 Desambra 2011 à 17:28 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
The Tsines --> Tsino issue I mentioned earlier should be as well mended. Here is one sample of the fixes to be done in the contents in tl:Kategorya:Mga pangngalang Tsines. Regards. -- 16 Desambra 2011 à 17:49 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Thanks for the changes from Tsines to Tsino. The equivalent for Catalan -> Katalan can be seen in this example. Regards. -- 1 Janoary 2012 à 13:06 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Thanks for fixing it. In Recent Changes I have just seen that a number of pages are designated as Catalan but they clearly aren't Catalan words. Some of them are the following: अविवाहित, किला, जानवर, नहर, शून्य, 事故, 動物, 大文字, 検挙, 被せ, 運河, 食堂, :, Weingeist, werkwoord, wonder, Wunder, vrijgezel, végösszeg, virkalakki, voertuig, veicolo, Verbrecher, Verhaftung, vezércikk, valkuainen, ulykke, under, Unfall, urheus, tweegevecht, titik dua, titok, tojásfehérje, temppeli, templom, tempio, tempel, Anus, animalisk, bűnügyi, kahvio, kamperen, kanaal, Kanal, kanal, kanava, Kantine, kecelakaan, kettőspont, kiskorú, knobbel, kolon, koolon, kost, kostnad, kuil, kuolevainen, kuoppa, követő. They are just the ones I have been able to locate here, under letter K and somewhere else, so chances are that there will be more lemmata labelled as Catalan which are not Catalan lemmata at all. -- 2 Janoary 2012 à 02:14 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I would like to ask you not to create entries with your bot if you're not able to check whether the information source is correct. The majority of the pages in Sokajy:limborgisy is incorrect. Of some I can't even tell what it would mean... (Nuesnappech??) And some are obviously wrong: ómgaeve. (why is there a full stop?), goud (this is Dutch). --Ooswesthoesbes 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:17 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I have retrieved the translations from the English Wiktionary. If the majority of pages in mgwikt is wrong, then a non-negligible quantity of Limburgish translation at enwikt is also wrong. I can not speak Limburgish as you do, but if they are wrong, I am going to delete them. Thanks for your help. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:22 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Thank you for your fast reply. Most (if not all) translations to Limburgish at en.wikt are unchecked. Of course some are okay, but a lot of them are either Limburgish pronunciation spellings of Dutch or dialectual pronunciation spellings. I will help you clean up the cat (fixing those that can be fixed). --Ooswesthoesbes 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:24 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Another thing, your bot seems to automatically replace "en" by "li" in the definitions. Making the Malagasy translation probably incorrect. I've corrected this here for example. --Ooswesthoesbes 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:31 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Thanks ! Infortunately, we have to correct that manually. Doing it automatically may more damage the quality that ameliorate it. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:34 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Yes, I know. I think it has to do with the ISO codes? If so, it could be possible that this is also to be found in other language pages. Fortunately, quick searches on this wiki do not reveal this though. --Ooswesthoesbes 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:37 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Alright, that's done :) Let me know if you need any help again :) --Ooswesthoesbes 22 Desambra 2011 à 16:40 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Some questions about Volapük

Hello Malafaya,

I would like to know some things about Volapük :

  • Is it a very souple language which allows the fact of using a personal pronoun as a normal root  ? In other words, is it correct to make a word as obapük ("my language") ?
  • Where can we find a detailed grammar book and a Volapük to English (or French) dictionary on the Internet ? Can you give me some sites ?

Thanks in advance. --Jagwar 22:37, 2011 dekul 27id (UTC)

Hi, Jagwar.
First of all, I don't think "obapük" would be correct, not because it violates any principle, but simply because I never saw it anywhere as such. The normal form would be "pük obik/oba". I belive that when you join 2 words like "obapük", you don't mean a real possession but a characteristic of some kind of object/concept. For example, delagased (dela + gased) is, in general, a day/daily newspaper. It's not a newspaper of some specific day (which would be represented by "gased dela", newspaper of day X). This is my opinion, and I believe it's somewhat like German for instance. With "oba", you can never be this generic, so it's probably wrong to say "obapük".
As for dictionaries, you can find resources at http://personal.southern.edu/~caviness/Volapuk/ , but the dictionaries here are a bit outdated. For fresher resources, you can check (and maybe join) the Yahoo! Volapük Group. There are many courses there too (Volapük Vifik, Volapük For Everyone, Volapük In Action) as well as grammars, including the original "GRAMAT VOLAPÜKA IN VOLAPÜK". Ah, bear in mind there are two Volapüks: the original Schleyer version, which some people still use, and the de Jong's revised version. There are some significant differences. The Kadäm Volapüka uses the latter. Malafaya 11:10, 2011 dekul 28id (UTC)

Dummy entries

I believe it is wrong to create dummy entries without any definition, like abysse and absorptivité. By creating these, you are artificially inflating the numbers of entries in Malagasy Wiktionary while providing no useful information to Malagasy readers. I ask you to stop. --Dan Polansky 2 Janoary 2012 à 09:57 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Wrong Latin forms

Spuaveram, spuaveras, spuaverat, spuaveramus, spuaveratis and spuaverant are not right Latin verbal forms of Latin. The stem for those forms shouldn't come from "spuavi" (a form that doesn't exists in Latin) but from "spui". It is a 3rd conjugation verb, not a 1st conjugation one.
If, after a couple random searches in a near-one-million lemmata dictionary, I come across a mistake like this so straightforwardly, I wonder how many thousands of mistakes are here. After what happened in fj.wikt and tl.wikt, I still cannot understand why you never started immediately adding a warning template to every new content page you create with your bot. Are you aware of all the problems you are creating for the projects involved when a substantial part of the information is so unreliable? And Ikotobaity is doing exactly the same thing in other projects (I have spotted the usual inconsistencies and wrong information in a few random pages created by him in te.wikt). When you transfer information, say, from Polinesian languages to Dravidian languages through an English and/or French percolator, you get very messed up results. That would happen even with languages in the same family. An example: a short simple sentence (he's got long legs) in Spanish in Google Translate translated into Afrikaans, then into Albanian and then back to Spanish: Él tiene las piernas largas → Hy het lang bene → Ai privimi të gjatë → Que la privación a largo. Even though all languages involved are Indo-European, the last sentence has no sense at all and its meaning is not even close to the original one. That is basically what you and Ikotobaity are doing with your bots. Please, start informing the users of the pages you create(d) about the fact that those pages may be wrong (you can be sure a very substantial chunk of the whole are so). -- 9 Janoary 2012 à 20:49 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Also moneaveram, moneaveras, etc... moneavi, moneavis, moneavit, etc... are wrong Latin forms that do not exist. I have just checked to see if you had made the same mistake with 2nd conjugation verbs, as expected, you did. Volapük may be totally regular. Latin is not that regular even with regular verbs (moneo is regular). Regards. -- 9 Janoary 2012 à 20:57 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Volapük is totally regular, and I think the only problems of Volapuk is the difficulty of attestability ; but you just need to open a grammar book to make them all attestable. For Latin it is much harder to generate forms and I really wonder how they do not to mistake any word (which algorithm they use...). --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 10 Janoary 2012 à 17:12 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
I was mentioning Volapük just as a contrast (because it is totally regular) for Latin. I was just stating that most of the forms you created for Latin verb moneo are wrong because you treated it as if it were a 1st conjugation regular verb but it isn't. The same is true for spuo. I have no time to read your next message right now. I'll give you a reply asap. Regards. -- 11 Janoary 2012 à 19:50 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

I have never negated that a certain error rate exists when translating a text sample from a language to another one. Here, what I (and apparently Ikobaity too) did was translating word-to-word (and not phrase to phrase, as you did above). I have got 60 random pages and that is what I get : totenay jibaonanis basiaremini b"danis ubegifälors confirmantor nokorisainao fivovoazanjareo "dem?tof hindost"nana pocalikof anongoana mizakao zabelyazvakhte not?kan consarrietur bozanje stygn gushvalata ammordimus mpihetsikareo aj¤aan^ ??no detulerat fisoritako kastrirashchiya mpanifikao hitrikareo obuidols edixeram p"bemastikom mpijoronareo mpievanevanareo sevohina enfrascado aboutirez aeternarentur mangiatosi dogazhdakh baihariky basirash apportemus havozomaminao apostatas attaminabat fh?rsh rakhstn kitsokilohanareo adnuuntier maroatodintsika appellitate mpikajakajanay planned on izg"lchavaniya pacen"f"n fatafany bankrutirashchiyat gonoreo hotsontsoninao fandetrao sensibilice (my command prompt is unable to support some characters). On all of these I get 2 errors, making an error rate of 3.3% (the real proportion should be around 4.5% at most). On nearly one million it makes around 45,000 entries, which is quite substantial in terms of amount, but actually a very small and localized part of Malagasy Wiktionary (most of them may be Latin or Turkish).

People have already been warned on the main page that some pages may contain errors. I think that is enough : do you personally think that we absolutely need a warning template for every page created ? If the error rate is 10% I do agree but not for 3%. I don’t know exactly what Ikotobaity does in other wikis like te.wikt ; but he has surely understood my point of view and applied it.

The error rate of a machine translator is quite high (10%) but for a word-to-word translation it is much times lower ; and it is yet lower for languages which are widely spoken or present on the Net, and I am sure Albanian is not ; that’s why you got the wrong final translation in your example : the translator failed to translate accurately the Afrikaans phrase (which was actually exact) into Albanian (certainly due to a lack of clearly distinguished translations, as Google Translate is a statistic-based MT). Here is an example of translation chain, with indo-european, dravidian, bantu and malayo-polynesian languages : J'ai de grands pieds (French) → У меня есть большие ноги (Russian) → Eu tenho pés grandes (Portuguese)→ ನಾನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಡಿಗಳು (Kannara)→ நான் பெரிய அடி கொண்டிருக்கிறேன் (Tamil)→ मैं बड़े पैर है (Hindi)→ Saya memiliki kaki besar (Indonesian)→ Ég hef stóra fætur (Icelandic) → Mimi na miguu kubwa (Swahili) → J'ai de grands pieds (back to French) ; I got finally the initial sentence, which was quite simple to translate (Google translate failed to give the correct sentence after three tries with "Je vais au marché acheter des pommes, des poires et des ananas").

One solution I could find for Latin is to delete all of latin verb forms and re-import them from the English Wiktionary (where all of them come from), because correcting them manually is a tedious work and I currently don't have much time to check and delete them all (I have no long breaks this year). --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 10 Janoary 2012 à 17:08 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

First of all, thanks for your thorough reply. Let's go over it:
I know you never denied that a certain error rate existed when translating a text sample from a language to another one, that is why I wonder why you are so reluctant to infom about it with templates.
About the list of random pages you have checked: A) I don't understand the red links. Did you deleted them or are they wrong searches? If you weeded obviously wrong lemmata (they don't seem to have been deleted, though), that's 20 wrong pages out of 60. If they are just wrong searches, then you only checked 40 pages, not 60. Two out of 40 makes 5%, not 4,5%. Anyway 45,000 articles is quite a lot: for example, it took the wiktionary in Spanish 6 years (from April 2004 to May 2010) to reach that number of articles; locating and checking them (you can do neither with a bot) may take much longer unless a little army of competent users roll their sleeves up and start doing it at once. B) I just had a quick overlook on the lemmata but I found most of them were conjugated, inflected or declined forms explained in Malagasy so I do not have many chances to spot mistakes in such kind of pages. Anywway, those pages just make me feel stronger about the need of a warning template: loads of systematic translation mistakes are possible in tiny moments of inattention. Anyway I found that, seemingly, the Swedish word "styng" is a noun, so, unless, http://malagasyworld.org/ is wrong or incomplete, the translation "manjaitra" (a verb according to that webpage) should be removed. I also found the phonetic transcription of Latin attaminabat (/attɑ̃ːinabat/) intriguing: why a nasal vowel (ɑ̃ː) without the "m"? As long as I know, Latin nasalized vowels followed by -m at the end of words, not in the middle of them, but I see that is a question for Ikotobaity.
A warning in the main page is clearly not enough for a number of important reasons: A) many people consulting wiktionaries never see the main page because they arrive via browser links; B) many people who visit the main page may not have the slightest notion of Malagasy, Fidjian, Tagalog, Telugu, etc (did you leave any messages in the other projects' main pages anyway?) because they may be looking for a translation, a pronunciation, a link to another word in the project language (which may be wrong)... they may even just copy some information into other projects (I have seen at least two mistakes spreading "quickly" from project to project, creating a "bigger (wrong) truth" than truth itself); C) a template is very easy to remove if the info is checked by somebody but a mistake is not so obvious for a substantial number of users (remember that linguistic literacy is not very common, it isn't even among people speaking several languages if they have been learnt mainly in a listening-speaking environment as opposed to a reading-writing method); D) a dictionary is something made up of many little bits (lemmata) and they must be as accurate as possible (i.e. checked one by one by competent people) whenever there is reasonable doubt with a bot, a template is the best way, even if only a tiny fraction or no pages are wrong: Volapük or Esperanto, having totally regular conjugations shouldn't be a problem (as long as the bot run has been thoroughly checked previously). E) Probably there are more reasons but I haven't thought and I won't think much about it because those ones are more than enough for me.
What you say about Google translator is true and actually that is the point of what I meant. Actually, I looked for a wrong (but not unusual) example on purpose: Google system "learns" statistically (the more proper translations previously fed to it the better future outcomes) and context is important while I think your bot doesn't learn or takes grammatical context in account (please correct me if I am wrong) but Google generates mistakes with simple things anyway. I already explained a number of mistakes to you in fj.wikt, in tl.wikt a lot of valid pages were about being deleted because of improper checking (see: section Bot fixes at tl.wikt in this discussion but you still seem to be reluctant to inform people about possible mistakes in the content of the bulk, bot-created entries you add in wiktionary projects. You can still can easily find mistakes like pusi (Fidjian for cat) meaning clavardage (French for internet chatting) in fj.wikt or, here in mg.wikt, Latin word amare (to love, verb) meaning "sea" (does that mean "to love" in Malagasy? I cannot find such meaning in http://malagasyworld.org ); Telugu word క్లా meaning both hoho (“claw”, noun) and mihaotra, (“claw”, verb); and Telugu word మాండలికం meaning both beroberoka (“dialect, incomprehensible jargon”, noun) and miroky (“to speak a dialect”, verb)... something which seems quite unlikely to me as Telugu is a heavily inflected language and it is quite probable that nouns and verbs have different forms (I may be wrong here, though, unfortunately my Tegulu is practically nonexistent).
About the Latin forms, for a start I would (but I won't) just go over Sokajy:Matoanteny_amin'ny_teny_latina (there should be hundreds of -o forms there though) and check which are not 1st conjugation verbs (infinitive ending in -are), then check the articles linking to them for forms ending in thing like -abam, -abas, etc, -abo, -abis, etc, -avi, -avisti, -avit, etc, -averam, -averas,, etc, -abar, -abaris, etc, -abor, -aberis, -abitur, etc, and tag them for deletion, because they have 1st conj forms but aren't 1st conj verbs. Templates would help in the rest (actually I would just label with a template every single entry your bot created except, maybe, those you are sure are positively right). That would mean a lot of weeding to do in 163,030 pages... Anyway, as you say, I don't think you would do that because it would take, at least, months. Alternatively you can do what you mention above but please, first make sure to delete ONLY the pages your bot created (probably nobody else created Latin entries here but that is the kind of things you shouldn't and cannot oversee at all by now) and that they do not share information with other language lemmata validly created. You often complain about tedious work and lack of time but never seem to fully acknowledge that you create a lot of tedious work for others (besides unwarned potential mistakes for looking for info here) and for yourself and that you have time to program, (thoroughly?) check and run your bot often. -- 14 Janoary 2012 à 12:21 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Bot-Jagwar, not only Ikotobaity, has also created phonetic transcriptions with the vowel + m = nasalized vowel issue I mentioned above. -- 14 Janoary 2012 à 13:45 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

The red links on the batch are there because the original words contained non-ASCII characters that are actually not supported in the command prompt of my computer and were converted automatically into ASCII as consequence ; they are not wrong searches. No wrong lemmata have been voluntarily deleted (except one which is adnuuntier) nor removed from the batch, they have been put as they were on my command prompt. The phonetic transcription was due to an error in the code and will be replaced by the good pronunciation as soon as possible.

The reason for which the Spanish Wiktionary grows so slowly is because they do not use bots to create entries, or use it very limitedly. They have their reason to adopt such a policy. Same remark about the German Wiktionary.

If most of people who consult Wiktionary never consult the Main Page, why not making a warning directly on the sitenotice to warn them that there may be entries that can contain errors ? It is even faster when 900,000 entries created here were actually created by a bot : it takes at least two weeks to template them all, if there is no page error during the process. Do the French or the English Wiktionaries always make a warning template when they automatically create entries through using a bot ? I only saw one bot in the English Wiktionary doing that ; and I see no bot doing that on fr.wikt. Accessing a normal wikipage in Madagascar is already quite long (20 seconds), so who will bother to change them except maybe two or five thousand people who have a large broadband Internet connexion ? A very few people, actually.

I am not yet able to make my bot use statistics to check whether the translation may be wrong or true ; the error rate still exists when using Google Translate but it is lower than phrase-to-phrase translation. A non-negligible part of the translation done in some wiktionaries and even here are from the English Wiktionary, Google does not generate as long as I know such mistakes. About verb and noun double translation, this was because they were translated from English (in which language nouns and verbs have the same form) ; about Telugu verb -- for information -- they all end with -డానికి (-daniki).

About the wrong latin verb forms -- as it is the main subject of that long discussion -- I will do it, and you can be sure, I have created them all, there is no doubt on that. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 14 Janoary 2012 à 19:10 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

The wiktionary in Spanish used and occasionally uses bots to create new articles. Probably the same is true for the wiktionary in German. They just do not overuse bots for everything. Bots in es.wikt are mainly used to perform tasks that are clearly systematic (languages aren't usually so): adding categories, templates, links, format, etc., i.e. proper bot tasks. Inflected forms do not seem to especially appeal to the community, that is why, at least not so far, bots haven't been used in a consistent way to add regular plurals and declined or conjugated forms. The community there tend to be more focused in basic quality than quantity (quantity being a widespread obssession in wikis imho).
Anyway, by saying this or that project should use bots, you avoided the real point of my statement: it is only an estimation (i.e. it may be bigger or smaller), but 45,000 potentially wrong articles is no small quantity. A vandal would never be able to be so successful unless s/he were very clever.
I am not against using bots at all as long as they are used sensibly, i.e. whenever everything is previously checked with sample ammounts to see what mistakes may be made in order to solve them, and adding templates when there is a hint that errors may be generated. I acknowledge that bots may be very helpful in projects like this but you should start seriously thinking about minimizing to the very least the chances or the nature of your bot-generated mistakes. Huge numbers may be very flashy but hidden mistakes are truly insidious. You are piling up both features but the last doesn't help this or any other projects at all.
> About verb and noun double translation, this was because they were translated from English (in which language nouns and verbs have the same form)
I know. I actually have previously told you that same thing in a number of ways. My answer, you know, is quite straightforward: Then, why not avoiding doing it? Maybe the chance to have a bigger figure in the article counter overrides any other consideration like that?
The sitenotice option doesn't seem a good idea to me unless you can also add an implementation to automatically show which pages have or haven't been checked by a non-bot user. Regards. -- 15 Janoary 2012 à 15:58 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
If the obsession of a bigger figure in the article count obsessed me, you can believe me that the Malagasy Wiktionary would be the first wiki in terms of article count. I don't hide you that each time you have passed a milestone (700k, 800k) you get a bit excited (who wouldn't ?). --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 15 Janoary 2012 à 17:10 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Olana ara-panononana mikasika ny teny iditra amin'ny teny latina

Tsy haiko raha hitanao izy ireo fa toa ohatry ny misy olana ilay fanononana amin'ny teny latina. Tokony ahitsiana haingana izy ireo. --Lohataona 15 Janoary 2012 à 12:19 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Fandikana ny teny malagasy amin'ny teny afrikanina maro

Miarahaba anao Jagwar,

Amin'izao fotoana izao aho dia mandika ny teny malagasy amin'ny teny vahiny afrikanina. Tongava mijery ny fanovana natao raha manam-potoana ; ka raha misy diso ny teny iditra sasany dia lazao ahy, dia hitantsika izay azo atao. Fanampiana ny endrika X-SAMPA amin'ny pejy rehetra

Manao ahoana,

Vao namorona ny endrika hahafahantsika mampiditra fanononana X-SAMPA izaho teto amin'i Wikibolana, ka ny tsara atao amin'izao fotoana dia mametraka io endrika io amin'ny pejy rehetra.

Noho ny fetran'ny tranonkala dia mety ho mahery ny tapa-bolana ny faharetan'ilay fanovana (raha 75 000 isan'andro no isan'ny pejy voaova).

Afaka manampy ahy ve ianao amin'ny fanampiana io endrika io amin'ny pejy rehetra ? Raha maneky ny hanao izany ianao, dia soloy ho " {{pron|" fotsiny ilay "". Raha alefanao mandritry ny herinandro ilay rôbô dia ho herinandro fotsiny ny faharetan'ilay fanovana.

Dia misaotra mialoha, --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 29 Jolay 2012 à 21:44 (UTC) PS: Araka ny hatakao tamin'ny imailaka, dia nataoko tsy ho afaka voasakana amin'ny IP ianao mba hahafahanao mampandeha ny rôbô anao eo amin'i tranonkala. --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 29 Jolay 2012 à 21:48 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]

Manao ahoana,
Misaotra indrindra nanala ny fanakanana mikasika ny IP andraisako anjara. Noho izany efa vita, azoko atao ny manampy anao. Hampiasa script fanoloana avy amin'i Pywikipediabot aho, ka tsy miantoka ny hadisoana mety ho vokatr'izany.
Misy olana kely amin'ilay faharetan'ilay asa rôbô : izaho tsy haharitra 7 andro izany! Ataoko ireo pejy manomboka amin'i a hatramin'ny pejy manomboka amin'i b. Ny olana faharoa dia ilay kaodim-piteny, ho an'ireo pejy amin'ny ahitana fizaram-piteny maro indrindra indrindra, ka amin'ny voalohany aloha aleo tsy asiana kaodim-piteny ny endrika. Sa ahoana? Atomboko ilay asa, dia lazao izay mety ho vahaolana.
(efa somary matoritory izaho ity, ka enga anie ho mazava aminao izay nosoratako) --Lohataona (discussion) 29 Jolay 2012 à 22:43 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Tena miala tsiny indrindra fa tsy afaka manohy ilay asa nomenao aho. Isaky ny miova pejin-tsokajy manko ilay milina dia mamoa-kadisoana KeyError foana (noho ny VPN ampiasaiko?), ka araka izany dia tsy hahomby hanao ilay asa ny solosaiko. --Lohataona (discussion) 29 Jolay 2012 à 23:37 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
Ok, tsy haiko intsony izay afaka ataoko... Misaotra ihany nanampy. Dia tafandria mandry avy eto Frantsa :). --Jagwar grrrr... / homewiki 29 Jolay 2012 à 23:40 (UTC)Répondre[répondre]
